Beach and Resorts on Mactan Island ~ Crimson Resort ~ My motorcycle adventures, Philippines – Cebu Video

Here on Mactan Island, I’m still driving the main beach road and find a big dive shop, resort and public beaches. There are hundreds of pumpboats moored in this giant marina with resorts all around. I finally discover Crimson Resort and will be able to film the property and beach for you.

  2. A short story about "SM" Sir Mike…'SM' Stands for "Shoe Mart" it all started as a Small Store in Carriedo Street, City of Manila famous for its cheap and elegant stylish SHOES that every filipinos can afford owned by 'Sir Henry Sy' now the richest in Asia, a Tycoon…then it grows up rapidly to Department Stores, Super Markets then Shopping Malls then Real Estates and Condominiums…In Addition it added some retail grocery stores called "Save More" with the "SM" logo on it…hope my short story about SM helps…thank you and God Bless…

  5. Hi Mike.  Another great video.  And it's good that you were able to push that guy off your bike.  To all the people going to a bigger city in the Philippines, I recommend to always be suspicious and aware of your surrounding.  My mom told me a story that when she was with my brother back in PI, when she took a cab, someone jumped in there with her.  My mom had my brother with her and he was still a baby then.  My mom kept her cool and talk to the guy, she told her her where she was from and said her name.  The guy recognized the last name and left the car and pretended that he was just hitching a short ride.

So even with Taxis, everyone should be careful.  My tip is that when riding a taxi, make sure there's an operation number on it.  Then when in the taxi, call someone or even just pretend to call someone.  Tell them you're on your way and tell them you're in a certain taxi number.  Even if you're pretending to be on the phone, make sure you talk loud enough that the driver can hear.  It's sad but true to be careful.  In smaller towns and cities, they are safer because everyone knows everyone.  Just the larger cities you have to watch out for like Cebu and Manila area.  And when in manila, I'd recommend Makati or BGC.

Also, when walking in the streets, don't talk on your phone.  Be aware and especially if you have a nicer newer phone.

  6. a lot of people thought that S.M. stands for shoemart. In fact S stands for Sy and M stands for Mendiola which is Mr. Sy's wife's last name.

  12. The Philippines is also very inexpensive for the Koreans. Many bring their children there to learn English. Both Korean Airlines & Asiana fly non-stop from Seoul directly to Cebu City.
