$90 per Month Apartment in Mactan, Cebu, Philippines – Cebu Video

$170 includes electric. 4500 rent and 4000P electric average. There are low cost apartments, houses, and rooms to rent in the Cebu City are of the Philippines. I visited this one where a friend and his Filipina wife live recently. Best advice is to get a Filipino to help you find and negotiate the price, especially when looking for lower cost accommodations.

  8. Hello Rod! I hope this day finds you well! Another great video! I really appreciate and love looking at the lowest-priced rentals available! There is a great deal of reality established from that point of perspective as it is truly where the rubber meets the road so to speak for the entire market! The upper echelons of apartment rental prices can go to the stratosphere and become completely disconnected from any slice of reality but the bottom is the bottom and it's nice to remain in touch with where that slice of reality is at any point in time! This apartment was as you visited nicely quiet although I heard you say that they have a karaoke loving neighbor. That could definitely be a deal-breaker for me as I like at least a reasonable amount of quiet! I love it that you're willing to get right in there making videos and checking out these places! Keep up the great work as this is a great service that gives many hope! A room in a low rent neighborhood trailer park goes for minimum $500 with noise and serious security issues in SoCal! Some of us are looking to escape what once used to be a smart and thrifty but transformed into a now a hostile inner-city environment! I've had a large setback in heart health but there's still hope and I'm an optimist until I'm not! LOL! These videos give me lots of fun and hope. Now if I can just get that health plan controlled doctor to fix it and not patch it with drugs then I'll be seeing you soon!
    Sincerely,
    BM

  9. One extreme is living deep in a barangay and the other extreme is living in a gated community. Personally, i want a western level of accommodation, but I appreciate having immediate access to a barangay for things such as a wide variety of calendarias and sari sari stores. Of course that means accepting some karaoke and roosters crowing.

  11. @Rod…You don't really need a local to buy a condo or house if you're a foreigner. You only need a licensed real estate broker by searching online or even go to the office of the property developers themselves. They always have an in-house agent to help you. Don't worry about being overcharged because there's no such thing as double pricing for locals and foreigners. You won't be charged extra because you will be handed a price list and, as a former agent myself, I know there's only one price list for all, locals or foreigners. Make sure though that the property that you're buying is developed by a known and trusted developer based on the volume of their finished projects. Besides, no brokers would sell properties from developers with ill repute or have bad reputation.

  12. Considering all the comments about my apartment and the location it is in….granted it does not look very inviting. However, Philippines is growing rapidly and the prices of everything is going up and up. I look around and see the abject poverty that surrounds me and I look beyond what I perceive to be, to most, an unsuitable living condition. I am counting my blessings and know that this is NOT a permanent lifestyle but only a stop over until we are able to move on. Most of the people who live here do not have that advantage or opportunity. BTW…living here affords my wife and I the opportunity to help our families and neighbors. That is the true richness that fulfills the two of us.

  21. Question?? At 12:10 on the video position counter you were just pulling out of the alley that lead to the shown rental. Directly across the street is a yellow INN / Motel, the sign says
" Room Rates : 2hrs. Fan p120* Aircon p170 * Daily rates available". Hmmmm????? Really by the hour???? LMAO… Thanks for all your leg work Rod I watch you all the time😎

  27. Not 90 like the title says. But still cheap. I have friends who live in areas like you showed and the crowding and noise can be very bad. Also in areas like that you have to be very careful about going out alone at night. Also home theft occurs often. Being a foreigner you will always be targeted

  29. Interesting to see the wide range of rentals in PI, considering the condo rentals you've shown previous;y. Like you've said before, it really depends on the lifestyle and comfort level of a would-be expat. Rick seems happy and comfortable there and I don't see any problem w/ that. But like any human, one still yearns for a better place to live. Never ends.

  30. Hi,

Thanks for this vid's, for me nothing special to say about this place considering the rental price. If Rick and his wife are ok here and safe with neighbors so is good. the only point who make me ??? is the 4K bill electric but me never use aircon too only use fan and fridge.
Have a good night and day everyone …
    Marc
