Our tour of Cebu continues with a visit to the Heritage of Cebu Monument, Yap-Sandiego Ancestral House, Basilica del Santo Niño and Magellan’s Cross.
Magellan’s Cross was planted by Portuguese and Spanish explorers as ordered by Ferdinand Magellan upon arriving in Cebu in the Philippines in 1521. The simple, dark brown cross on display encases the original cross to preserve and protect it from mother nature and sticky fingers.
A variety of vendors line of the streets and walkways near the Basilica in hopes of selling a toy, balloon, candle or souvenir to visitors
